Al Nassr standout Cristiano Ronaldo has asserted that the prestige of the Ballon d’Or and FIFA Best awards is diminishing.

Having clinched the Best Middle East Player and Fans Favourite Player honors at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Ronaldo expressed skepticism about Lionel Messi being the rightful recipient of both accolades.

“Ballon d’Or and The Best are losing credibility,” remarked the former Real Madrid star during an interview at Atlantis after the ceremony.

“It’s not to say that Messi didn’t deserve it, or Haaland or even Mbappé… but the numbers are there, and the numbers don’t deceive. You’ve to consider the entire season.

“The numbers are facts,” emphasized Ronaldo to Record.

Reflecting on his remarkable goal-scoring feat at Al Nassr, the Portuguese star shared insights, stating, “If you go back and see what happened at Manchester United and the national team, people actually considered me lost.

“But the truth is that I focused and had a great period at Al Nassr, that’s why I scored 54 goals.”
