African musicians are poised to achieve widespread global fame, thanks to the influence of streaming services that have transformed the world into a unified international music hub.

In 2023, Spotify’s ‘Journey of a Billion Stream‘ revealed that Afrobeat artists had produced over N11 billion in revenue in 2022. Citing IFPI, the company noted that the overall revenue of Nigerian music grew by 63% from 2021 to 2022, with revenues from Nigerian artists on Spotify alone increasing by 74%.
